Doha: (NHRC-19/06/2008): A sub-regional workshop called NHRIs and Human Rights Defenders for West Asian NHRIs will be hosted at the Doha Millennium, Simsima Hall, by the National Huamn Rights Committee of Qatar (NHRC) from 22-26 June 2008.

The workshop is presented by the NHRC in partnership with APF and the International Service for Human Rights (ISHR). ISHR will develop the training modules and conduct the training program. The goal of the workshop is to assist key staff from NHRIs to understand the role and functions of human rights defenders and the international standards and mechanisms that protect their rights.
