Doha: (NHRC: 21/5/2013): H.E. NHRC Chairman, Dr. Ali Ben Smaikh Al-Marry this evening chaired the 13th annual Doha Forum’s National Human Rights Committee session titled ‘The Repercussions of the Global Economic and Financial Crisis on Human Rights’ held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel (Wasail Hall), where participants called for linking sustained development to human rights, and drafting, what they called, a new social contract in the context of a new global economic order that clearly defines states' role in managing economic crisis. NHRC CONCLUDES TRAINING SESSION ON –LAW ENFORCEMENT

Doha: (NHRC: 19/5/2013): NHRC has concluded its training session on ‘Law enforcement’, 12-16 May, 2013, at the Crown Plaza Hotel

NHRC PARTICIPATES IN "DOHA FORUM-13"

Doha/Agencies/12 May 2013/: NHRC will participate in The Doha Forum, to be held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, from 20th to 22nd May, under the patronage of HH the Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Dr Mohamed bin Saif Al Kuwari, member of the National Human Rights Committee in Qatar, which is hosting the forum's session on the impact of the global economic crisis on human rights said: "The session will address the pressing issues of private sector social responsibility in human rights, protection of migrant workers and the role of international organizations in addressing the results of the economic crisis on laborers." Geneva: 6/5/20913: Qatar’s NHRC Chairman, H.E. Dr Ali Ben Smaikh Al-Marry met yesterday at Wilson Palace in Geneva with Her Excellency Navi Pillay, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Talks during the meeting covered the need to cooperation between the two sides to upgrade all Human Rights domains in such a way so as to consolidated Human Rights culture on domestic, regional and international levels.
